Info
You have a/some big shop/s, but whenever somebody leaves their pig outside it runs away. Sound familiar? With this tutorial, your problem is solved! Build this parking lot outside your shop/shops, and the pigs will wait patiently for their loving owner to ride them away. As of version 1.6, horses have been added so just tie them up on a fence with a lead.

Supplies
- 7 fences(any type)
- 1 fence gate(once again, any type will do)
- 1 pressure plate
- A stone pressure plate works better than a wooden one because it cannot be activated by dropped items.
- Glowstone/Torches for light (OPTIONAL)
- 1 Chest for storing carrots on sticks (OPTIONAL)
Step 1
Place the fences in a 3ℂₗ3 ring with the middle section of one side missing.
Step 2
Place the fence gate in the hole, matching up with the fence.
Step 3
Place the pressure plate outside the stall, directly adjacent to the gate.
Step 4
Put 2 of any block on one side.
Step 5
Put a lever on one (or both) of the blocks.
Step 6
Put 2 redstone on the blocks behind the "wall"
Step 7
Dig stairs going down 2 blocks on each side of the redstone, like in the picture. Place redstone on each step.
Step 8
Turn towards the hole, and dig two more steps down. Again, place redstone on each step.
Step 9
Dig one block forward, then dig one layer in the direction of the hole. You should see your sticky pistons from the side, like this. Repeat for both sides.
Step 10
Place redstone on the side farther from the pistons. Place redstone repeaters pointing toward the pistons. Repeat on both sides.
Step 11
OPTIONAL Make glowstone lamps like this
Complete
Now, when you flip the lever, the sponge will go up and down. When the lever is down, a pig can get in and out. When the lever is up, pigs cannot escape, so they are safe (unless somebody kills them.)
In the end, it should look something like this:
This only has one (1) parking spot. Repeat (over and over again) to get a full parking lot.
Method 2 ⃢₀ₔ₠Fence (Simple)
This is very simple!
Optional step
Light with torches, glowstone or other light source, then place chest outside to store your Carrot on a Stick.
How to use
To enter:
- Ride pig into stall. (gate opens automatically thanks to pressure plate)
- Dismount. (note that you might end up in a different stall)
- Go about your business.
To leave:
- Mount pig.
- Open gate by right clicking on it.
- Ride away. (gate will close automatically)
Please note that this is only one stall. You will need many of these for a parking lot, though the design does allow space-saving by overlapping the walls.
Also note that nighttime isn`t a good time to use this method because a mob can let the pig free because of the pressure plate Pressure Plate Transparency Yes Luminance No Blast resistance 2.5 Tools Renewable Yes Stackable Yes (64) Flammable Wooden: No, but catches fire from lava Others: No Drops Itself Data values See Data values Name See Data , unless you`re on Peaceful Mobs in full armor are a common sight in higher difficulty levels. Method 3: fence vs. nether brick fence
You need:
- 6 Fence Fence Transparency Yes Luminance No Blast resistance 15 (Wood) 30 (Nether Brick) Tools Renewable Wood: Yes Nether Brick: No Stackable Yes (64) Flammable Wood: Yes Nether Brick: No Drops Itself Data values See Data values
- 6 Nether brick fence
- 4 blocks that do not require an attachment block. (optional, but keeps out spiders Spider Health points 16 () Attack strength Easy: 2 () Normal: 2 () Hard: 3 () Size Height: 0.9 Blocks Width: 1.4 Blocks Spawn Light level of 7 or less, 3×3×2 space on solid blocks and endermen Enderman Health points 40 ( × 20) Attack strength Easy: 4 () Normal: 7 () Hard: 10 () Size Height: 2.9 Blocks Width: 0.6 Blocks Spawn In the Overworld, the Nether or the End in )
- Something to light up the place (optional)
Instructions
- Pick the place you want to put the stall. It should be a 2ℂₗ2 area on the inside (4ℂₗ4 total)
- Line the edges with fence and nether brick fence so that all the wooden fences are ajacent to two nether brick fences each and all the nether brick fences are adjacent to 2 wooden fences each.
- (optional, but will keep spiders and endermen out) Place the remaining 4 blocks so that they are above the inside and are 2 blocks above the ground.
- (optional) Light up the place
- Ride a pig into your new stall.
Alternating fences
Fences do not connect to nether brick fences, but pigs think that you are placing two solid blocks next to each other.
Preventing spiders
Fences are 1.5 blocks high, so when a spider tries to climb them, they will end up climbing the blocks above your structure.
Preventing endermen
The blocks leave a 2-block space, but endermen are 3 blocks high.
Method 4: Leads
Since version 1.6, leads have been added. You can set up fences in front of your shops (or wherever else) and tie pigs to fences and leave them there, so there is probably no use of the other methods if you have version 1. 6 or higher.
