Notes "High performance Minecraft server implementation" |
SpigotMC, also known simply as Spigot, is a fork of the popular Bukkit Custom servers Author Bukkit Team Developers Mojang AB Platform JRE Written in Java Latest version Bukkit #1807 CraftBukkit #3095 Released 2 Jan. 2011 (Announced) Size Bukkit - MB 4.7 (Build 1807) CraftBukkit - 19.5 MB server mod. Spigot is meant to increase performance and efficiency in the traditional Bukkit server See the multiplayer software in Minecraft. For the multiplayer experience, see Multiplayer. For the official Mojang paid-for servers, see Realms. For other unofficial Minecraft server software, see custom servers. Minecraft servers allow mod, while still maintaining compatibility with plugins meant for Bukkit. Many larger servers use Spigot, since larger servers tend to use more resources than your average server. Spigot is also ideal for home servers that lack the resources to buy hardware upgrades or pay for hosting. Home servers tend to lag a lot, typically because of internet restrictions or lack of resources. Spigot can help reduce the stress put on a computer by running a Minecraft server, and eliminate some lag in-game.
