options.txt is the file that stores all the options changeable in the in-game options The main options menu The video settings menu The music and sound options menu Minecraft’s user environment can be configured through the Options setting. A few additional options can only be changed by editing the menu and various other information the game needs to store after quitting. It is found in the .minecraft .minecraft (or simply minecraft in macOS) is the folder Minecraft creates to run from. This folder includes the .jar files, sound, music, resource packs, personal options, worlds, etc. Locating .minecraft Locating the .minecraft folder is folder and can be edited with any basic text editor to change your options. Most settings can be changed in-game, but a few can only be changed by editing this file.
