Strategy
Silence is currently not being played in any competitive Priest deck. Using Silence almost always leads to a favourable trade for your opponent since the affected minion also needs to be removed by another card.
Some players had considered using Silence specifically against Sylvanas Windrunner since she was very hard to deal with for Priest, but the introduction of Entomb has solved this problem.

Trivia
- In Apr. 2016, the game`s developers considered that Silence effects "may be undercosted right now", due to their ability to neutralize powerful cards. This is why only a few cards with Silence effects had been added since the game`s initial release, often with very limited applications: For instance, Wailing Soul and Purify can only Silence the player`s own minions, generally useful only for specific combo play; while Light`s Champion and Defias Cleaner can only Silence specific types of cards.
