Skywrath Mage Hero Strategy Counters Equipment Gear Responses Sounds Lore Old Abilities Changelogs Skywrath Mage 19 + 1.8 13 + 0.8 27 + 3.6 Level- A skywrath with quick fingers will punish Queen of Pain for blinking aggressively: Ancient Seal is a six second silence with no cast time so he can interrupt either her Shadow Strike or Sonic Wave, and a good Mystic Flare on top of that will seal the deal for her.
- Ancient Seal also has pretty good range so he could get it off before she blink away.
- Silence will prevent you from blinking out.
- If you blink on top of her, she will turn on Spirit Siphon and turn around.
- Smoke Screen is particularly deadly on heroes that don`t like building Force Staff For the cosmetic item equipped by Crystal Maiden, see Force Staff (Equipment) Item Changelogs Force StaffB Allows you to manipulate others, for good or evil. Cost2250 (400) Bought FromCaster Active Force
- A good Nyx can reflect Queen of Pain`s Sonic Wave with his Spiked Carapace, or even initiate a gank on her in Vendetta while she farms a creep wave with Scream of Pain.
- Her str to int ratio is bad enough that he should be able to kill her without even requiring a Dagon For the cosmetic item equipped by Nyx Assassin, see Nyx Assassin s Dagon. Item Changelogs DagonB A lesser wand that grows in power the longer it is used, it brings magic to , provided he can get his full combo off.
- Aggressively blinking is not going to end well against Luna, because Queen of Pain will then be easy target for Eclipse.
- Just like Enchantress, Queen of Pain`s @@@#@@@HP(hp.com)###@### is abysmal, so Luna can quickly kill Queen of Pain as soon as she jumps with Blink.
- In the laning stage, he can make life hard for you with Acid Spray as you have slightly less than the standard 600 attack range.
- In the late game, you`ll be lucky to burst him down with your spell combo as its damage eventually falls off, and he`ll quickly get back to full hp with Chemical Rage.
- Night Stalker has a huge, almost instant silence through Crippling Fear. The main problem is he can get it off while Queen of Pain barely has any vision of him if he creeps up to her during Darkness. She`ll have to play very carefully before you get a Black King Bar Item Changelogs Black King BarB A powerful staff imbued with the strength of giants. Cost3975 (1375) Bought FromArmor Active Avatar Bonus +10 Strength+24 Attack damage Disassemble? No Alert allies? No Recipe or a Eul`s Scepter of Divinity For the cosmetic item equipped by Crystal Maiden, see Eul s Scepter of Divinity (Equipment) Item Changelogs Known Bugs Eul s Scepter of DivinityB A mysterious scepter passed down through the ages, for example.
- Puck will make a game of dodging as many Shadow Strikes as he can with Phase Shift. If he`s a good player, he will also dodge Sonic Wave. If he`s a great player, he will also dodge Scream of Pain. All through a single spell.
- Puck also has a silence to stop her blink with Waning Rift.
- Puck will have vision to hunt her down if you blink into the trees with Illusory Orb.
- If Queen of Pain is under the effect of Dream Coil, she will be stunned and damaged if she blinks out.
- With balanced HP/Mana, Mana Void can kill her before blinking.
- He is only the one hero who can blink to chase her.
- Rupture will heavily damage Queen of Pain if she tries to Blink away.
- Blood Rite silences her, preventing her from initiating or escaping.
- With Thirst, even if she Blinks away, often Bloodseeker can catch right up to her.
- Sonic Wave is bad for Tempest Double which helps if he spends Necronomicon Item Old Abilities Changelogs NecronomiconB Considered the ultimate in necromancy and demonology, a powerful malefic force is locked within its pages. Cost2650 (1200) Bought FromCaster Active Demonic Summoning Bonus +8/12/16 and Blade Mail Item Old Abilities Changelogs Blade MailBL A razor-sharp coat of mail, it is the choice of selfless martyrs in combat. Cost2200 Bought FromArmor Active Damage Return Bonus +10 Intelligence+6 Armor+22 twice to reflect all damage to QoP. She may die.
- Magnetic Field protects himself or his ally from QoP`s attack, until she has Monkey King Bar For the hero, see Monkey King. Item Old Abilities Changelogs Monkey King Bar A powerful staff used by a master warrior. Cost5200 Bought FromWeapons Passive Mini-Bash, True Strike Bonus +66 .
- One more advantage of Tempest Double he can deny himself if he is almost dead from Shadow Strike.
- Thunder Strike gives vision of QoP when trying to escape. When combined with Glimpse her blink-ability becomes useless
- While in a team fight Static Storm forces QoP to only use right-clicks.
- When combined with the Kinetic Field, she can only wait until she re-spawns.
Others
- With a large AOE, spell-piercing, pure-dealing, high-damage nuke, QoP should be able to finish off anybody. In the mid game, odds are she can burst down any squishy hero, agility carries and int supports among others. Unless you`re initiating on an incredible tank that will buy enough time for his team to react, or blinking in the middle of 3 enemies, you shouldn`t be at too much risk. The recurring question with QoP is always who gets the jump off on who. If you`re the one blinking on someone, and you have enough damage to kill him or an ally to help you close-by, QoP is great. If you get jumped on and they have enough damage to kill you before you Blink away, or they have an other ally close-by to further disable and damage you, QoP is terrible. This could apply to every hero and is more general strategy than real counters, but it applies especially well to QoP because of Blink and Sonic Wave.
- Once you farm up an Orchid Malevolence or a Scythe of Vyse, you`re suddenly a lot more fearsome to those elusive heroes like Storm Spirit or even that pesky Puck Hero Strategy Counters Equipment Gear Responses Sounds Lore Old Abilities Changelogs Puck 15 + 2 22 + 1.7 25 + 2.4 Level Base .
Good against...
Huskar- Berserker`s Blood won`t help him against Sonic Wave and he`s the kind of hero that likes to remain at low hp.
- You should be able to blink away after he jumps you with Life Break.
- Pounce doesn`t prevent you from blinking away.
- Both Scream of Pain and Sonic Wave should hit him during his Shadow Dance
- Often you can burst Drow Ranger down before she has a chance to try and Gust you away. Try to have a teammate bait her Gust out before you Blink and get the drop on her.
- Untouchable won`t mitigate your magic damage, and she is often very squishy, so Queen of Pain can burst her down quick.
Works well with...
Dark Seer- Vacuum will make a nice set-up for a multi-hitting Sonic Wave.
- Surge can help you escape if your blink is still on cooldown or you`re silenced.
- Reverse Polarity will make a nice set-up for a multi-hitting Sonic Wave.
- Lifestealer can
