As a Manager/Player
GoDz also played a role in managing and occasionally standing in for the now defunct N9 squad. He managed them from 2011 through 2013. This included their period under Absolute Legends sponsorship where they received an invite to and participated in The International 2012. When GoDz did stand in for them, he typically played the support role in the 5th farming priority position.
As a Caster
Originally from Australia, GoDz organized and promoted Australian esports scene in 2011. He started casting for GosuGamers in early 2011 with ROCCAT GosuCup and really was the first main caster to provide consistent English Dota 2 casts of the SEA and Chinese scenes. For GoDz, 2012 proved to be a huge year with the formation of his own studio team in BeyondTheSummit (BTS) in April. The rise of BTS in 2012 was not only recognized by the community, but also Valve. GoDz received an invitation from Valve to be a part of The International 2012 analyst desk along side the likes of Nebu1a, James "2GD" Harding and the now legendary Bruno "Statsman" Carlucci.
Following TI2, David "LD" Gorman officially signed with BTS and became a partner with the founder, GoDz in October of 2012. Together, David and David cast the largest Chinese and SEA events in addition to a multitude of western Dota 2 tournaments. Some examples include G-1 League Season 4, G-League Season 2 and GEST 2012. February 2013 was a turning point in GoDz`s career as a caster. BeyondTheSummit hosted a crowd source funding campaign to create a new studio in Los Angeles, California. GoDz`s success continued and his contributions to the community were once again recognized by Valve who invited him to participate at The International 2013 as an analyst. In addition to participating with the main event, BTS was asked by Valve to host The International 2013 Eastern Qualifiers.
Trivia
At the Dota101 Collegiate Open LAN event at RIT on April 13 2013, GoDz had his two egg McMuffin sandwiches stolen by EternaLEnVy who was was co-casting the event with him. Upon realizing this, GoDz challenged EternaLEnVy to a 1v1 solo mid match where GoDz played Death Prophet and EternaLEnVy played Ursa. If GoDz won, EternaLEnVy would have to buy GoDz two new McMuffin sandwiches. If EternaLEnVy won, he did not have to repay him. GoDz ended up winning the match, but EternaLEnVy has yet to fulfill his promises.citation needed
