Crafting is a featureSpecial attraction that allows players to create new cosmetic items Cosmetic Items customize visual elements within Dota 2. by combining other cosmetic items. Crafting requires Recipes, consumable tools that indicate the items needed to craft the new item. The possible result of randomly crafted items is determined by the Crafting List The Crafting List defines what cosmetic items may be acquired through crafting recipes, Gifts, Tournament drops (Heroic items), and certain event rewards. It often shares many entries with the Drop List, but is not identical.

Acquiring Recipes
Recipes can be obtained by:
- Chance from opening the Ancient Scroll Case and Treasure of Heroic Bounty.
- Chance as a drop “ Play Just what I always wanted! Click to listen— Meepo ” The item drop system is a feature that allows players to obtain cosmetic items for free through playing the game. Drops cannot be sold on after playing matches.
- Players can receive both a cosmetic item and a recipe in one game.
- Playing the Diretide 2013 Diretide 2013 was a Halloween event that lasted from Nov. 14 to Nov. 28, 2013. It featuresSpecial attraction a game mode similar to Diretide 2012 with some changes, most notably that Roshan must now be killed
game mode. - Through trade or purchase on the Steam Market The Steam Community Market is a real money auction service used to buy and sell items related to Steam and Steam games, including Dota 2. All sales and purchases are completed using the Steam Wallet. .

How to craft
To craft, right click on the Recipe in the Armory See the interface display. To view a full database of equippable items, see cosmetic items. A loaded armory. The Armory is the client interface for cosmetic items in the Steam inventory. It 
menu. The materials needed are outlined in the Recipe`s tooltip. Fill in the slots with the requested items and you are ready to craft.
Limitations
Most items are usable in crafting, provided they have the required attributes (e.g. Uncommon rarity for Augment Uncommon recipes). Some items, be that as it may, are unusable in crafting - this is explicitly marked when it is the case.
It is possible to use untradable items to craft an item, however using any in the recipe will mark the result as untradeable, regardless of the tradeability of other items used in the recipe.
Binding
Partially completed Recipes can be saved by binding the items to the recipe. Once bound, the items are considered destroyed and cannot be recovered. Recipes with bound items can be traded or sold on the market, and will only require the remaining items to complete.
Polymorph Recipes
These recipes combine items of the same Rarity Not to be confused with an item s Quality. Rarity is a property of cosmetic items. It is represented in-game by the item s color theme. Rarity is a purely cosmetic property, and has no effect on to produce a random new item of the same Rarity. The amount of materials needed for each individual recipe is random.

These recipes combine items to create regular Quality Not to be confused with an item s Rarity. Quality is a property of cosmetic items. It is represented in-game by the item s prefix and name color. Quality is a purely cosmetic property, and has no 
versions of Genuine Genuine items are given out with certain promotions, often awarded alongside the purchase of real-world Dota 2 merchandise. The hexadecimal color code for Genuine items is #4D7455. Genuine quality items are available for a limited
